Welcome to Findochty – locally pronounced Finechty (fin'ech'tay)

SITE NEWS: 8th September 2007

Due to the increasing prices of web hosting, it is no longer viable for me to run this site as it currently makes no income to cover running costs.

The most viable option would be for someone with a B&B, Guest House or similar to take ownership and adapt the pages to suit their needs; i.e. more focussed towards taking bookings & advertising. If required this can be done for them.

If anyone is interested in taking over the site, they should make contact via. admin@findochty.com Failing this, the hosting renewal will lapse and the site will be taken down by the end of the year.

Findochty Harbour

To the East of the village the cliffs rise toward Tronach Head, honeycombed with caves and inlets. Cliff top paths link Findochty with the neighbouring village of Portknockie, and to Strathlene on the outskirts of Buckie in the other direction. It is a place to stop for spectacular views over the Moray Firth and its busy traffic of fishing boats, oil rigs and passing bottle-nosed dolphins.
